Nexus 6 vs Note 4: Two Titans, One Winner

We’ve put the Nexus 6 and Note 4 up against some pretty amazing competition over the past few weeks, and they’ve held up exceptionally well. Both phones prove that the end of 2014 has produced some terrific devices—maybe the best really is saved for last. So we wanted to know: which phone would come out on top when put head to head? That’s no doubt one of the harder decisions consumers will make this holiday season.

As a Nexus 5 owner, i would choose note 4 over N6. Having that huge screen without the split screen makes no sense. Plus everyone says note 4 takes better photos. So more functionality and better quality pictures, i think N6 has nothing so special to offer for that price except being stock android. Since we just got the lollipop, there wont be any major updates for android until the next gen nexus comes out.

A lot of these extra features aren't implemented well on any Samsung device. Some people may value that, but lag and stutter on a device with specs like this are unacceptable. Nexus6 for me.

Also, no amount of whiz-bang features that sell phones, but then are never used again, can make up for how ugly touchwiz is compared to pure 'pop.

Touchwiz makes Nexus 6 the winner for me

Bias review, "if it were me I'd chose the note 4" Samsung fanboy.

Reviewer is a Samsung fanboy clearly. Whether you choose the Note 4 or N6 just depends on what sort of software experience you're looking for. I had the Galaxy S, S3, S4. Touchwiz is great at first, but after a few months it starts to become incredibly laggy and buggy. After purchasing the Nexus 6 I know just how smooth Android can be.
Also, yes I want to max out on screen size. When I'm looking at a 5.7 inch screen or a 6 inch screen I can tell the difference. I prefer the larger one.
If photography is important to you, don't get the N6. The camera is average. It takes decent snapchat, facebook, and even vacation photos. But if you're someone to nitpick about exposure and other little things in pictures, the N6 will disappoint.

I can't download a better camera, better screen, stylus or grip. But I can download stock Android. #note4isking

I don't own a Note 4 or Nexus 6 but between the two, I gotta agree.  You get more bang for your buck with the Note 4 and if you don't like touchwiz then just root and flash CM12 on it and you'll have a super Nexus that has expandable storage, a removable battery and a superior camera.

Nothing wrong with the TouchWiz, stop talkin bullshit about TouchWiz, people.
There are lots of roms that you can install if you really dont like TouchWiz.
I have a Note 4, bo problem with TouchWiz, I had a SGS3, and had a lot of lags on it.

Owned each for 1 week. Returned them and went back to the hTC M8. I'm not joking. I'm not a troll. The M8 is faster and smoother than both. Fact.

Heavily biased towards samsung.
Nexus 6 definitely looks better.
Touchwiz is nothing compared to stock android

The speaker on the Galaxy Note 4 actually sounds better than the Nexus 6 front facing speakers.

Had the note 3. Hated the touchwiz and the wait to get the new software updates. Well now I have the nexus 6 and honestly I'm in love with it. I don't miss the pen anymore as honestly I hardly ever used it. So if you can cope up with the extensive wait to get the new updates and the touchwiz, note 3 is for you. If you can't like me, then you gotta pick the nexus. It's blazingly fast and doesn't let you down in anything it offers.

Ive been rocking a Samsung GS4 for the past 18 months. It's been a great phone and I've been impressed with it's longevity. The screen was one of the first 1080p screens available on a phone, so it still looks very impressive. However, I really don't find myself using any of samsungs features. I don't use any of the "convenient" features of touchwiz that it came with. The only time I've used multiscreen is when I show someone how it works. I also dont care for all of the media services they throw at you. Not that I think it's bad, I just find myself more into Google's services. Hopefully we'll have a refreshed 2015 Nexus 5 this spring.

I have a Nexus 6 but can say that when it comes to these two, The Note 4 has a leg up in most areas. Still, nothing like stock Android so I'm happy nevertheless.

I like the nexus 6 but.... the Note 4 takes the cake with this one...

Interesting comparison, but for me, as usual, Nexus loses first three stock Android makes a comeback and delivers the knockout blow.

lol And guess which phone came out on top... AGAIN?

Did you guess?

That's right, the #Samsung  #GalaxyNote4 did!

The Note line is the best damn thing that has ever happened to #Android ! The #GalaxyNote4   doesn't disappoint!
Just about everyone that has ever held this beauty of a device immediately falls in love with it!

Seems like the only thing  the #Nexus6 has as an advantage over the Note 4 is in quick updates, though that's subjective, since #Google can't seem to get things right the first time, always releasing buggy software. The Nexus line is more of a "Let's see what bugs we find in our software before we pass it on to the real Android flagships that actually sell."

lol Oops.
