That explains why crownless didn’t attack me for like a minute straight as he was emoting on me bro was supposed to have dialogue!

I heard that the CBT 1 story got entirely scrapped because the CN fanbase was unhappy that the characters were not friendly to them from the get-go.

If that is true, then I'm disappointed. I feel like a Wattpad self-insert whenever every character glorifies my existence.

i still dont know why they change the unfriendly part of the team, like they just met so ofcourse they would be cautious of someone who just absorb the crownless

While Chixia pointing her gun at Rover may look infuriating but it makes sense and somehow realistic as she was just being careful. Very Kuro thing to do, eventually they build trusts very much like pgr which felt the relationship more earned and satisfying.

Released version seems like everyone trusted you from the start for some reason, it's like an OP isekai harem kind of story.

damn, the characters felt so much more alive in the CBT version, in the release version they feel stiffer, more like an actual NPC

CBT 1 Crownless look more menacing. Man i wish the prolog scene from CBT 1 😔, its better than release version

Huh, so what we got was not Kuro's original vision? That would explain why the current prologue feels so... off. That also means that Kuro just needs to recover their flow so they can work that PGR magic again!

Fingers crossed that Kuro sticks to their creative vision moving forward. Listening to your fanbase on occasion is good, but artists need to set boundaries to ensure a healthy and cohesive final piece.

Things from Technical test and CBT 1 i wish they kept

1.) The beginning where rover falls
2.) Aggressiveness of Crownless
3.) technical test red crownless and the environment (purple just looks gloomy Red looks chaotic)
4.) The close up camera angle
In TT and CBT1 (old camera angle game stood out more imo)

The only thing that i like that made it was crownless jumpscare from Technical test

That why the prologue feel so weird, i see

What the hell? I loved the distrust at the start, that was so refreshing compared to how other stories start. Especially when it added character to the otherwise now monotone one-noted characters we have now (regarding the red haired girl, can’t remember her for the life of me). Like you’re telling me this person with Amnesia being all powerful quite literally EATS frequencies and your first response isn’t to be weary?

And Yangyang selflessly nearly dying for us makes me care about her way more vs now just being super nice for no reason at the get-go and kinda just following us around.

I was hopeful they changed the story for the better as I never saw the story before, but now that I watched this, it was such a shame. Makes you wonder what else they changed like this.

The cbt1 corwnless is the best so far in my opinion.

"Have you seen my crown?" I found this sensational along with the intro and how he behaved.

Because I’m seeing a lot of misinformation about this, I think it’s important to see what CN community actually flagged in CBT1. I can’t link anything here but I did watch some older bilibili videos about CBT1 and here were the most common complaints (CBT1):
1. Axu’s kill steal, NPCs praising the character, and Axu turning around and going ‘why are you still here’ to Rover. This scene actually became a meme in CN spaces for a long while, mocking the nonsensicality of it.

2. The yapping. A lot of it. Some articles on CBT1 mention a lot of specific terms that made it hard for readers to keep up with the plot.

3. Chixia pulling a gun on Rover after they had just saved everyone’s lives from the first monster.

Overall, the consensus was that the world and characters being so hostile to Rover no matter what choices the player made (despite the first area being ‘famed for its hospitality’) really did not incentivise players to want and save the world. Add to the extremely verbose dialogue, and Kuro’s writers chose to do a 90% rewrite after the feedback.

About the final release: no one is doomposting about it more than the same CN players. Complaints about final release (also from bilibili videos):
1. Why is everyone considering Rover to be a friend and saviour when they’ve literally just met?

2. That one line from Yangyang in a quest revolving around Jianxin. I can’t recall the exact words but Yangyang seemed to imply that soldiers on the front line had it easier than everyone else behind the lines. CN hated this line so much that it’s still a meme to this day, usually juxtaposed against Jing Yuan’s (Star Rail) trailer.

3. Jiyan’s quest is extremely controversial. There’s tons of pages of discourse on it, mostly about an army medic defying a general’s orders. Make of that what you will but that is a complaint they have.

4. Yapping is still there. Quality of acts 1-4 still suffered from it.

All in all, I think we need to remember that the responsibility of this rewrite’s quality ultimately falls on the writers’ shoulders when they were the ones who picked and chose what feedback they listened to, and it is extremely facetious to blame it on a playerbase’s feedback. Asking for less hostility doesn’t mean overhauling everyone’s personality, as can be seen from the CN community’s general view towards the current version. It seems Kuro has realised it and is very quickly making changes to that department, and if so, good for them. I hope this game succeeds because the combat system does look very cool, though I’m not planning on playing another Gacha so soon.

When the fandom mean they need to change is the story, not the boss man

CBT 1 Crownless actually had some stakes compared to the release one

panduvandal
Автор

wtf, this was so much better. it really showed the scaling of power rover has compared to everyone when it comes to the crown less, and felt like stakes were high from the get-go.

Ill be honest. They should have mixed all the versions. The new awakening from current. The Crownless intro from the first. The color and transformation from CBT1. The cinematics from CBT1. And I guess the new cutscenes for memory flashback from current. This could have been the best mix of all of them. Current is good but it feels too tame when this shit was before it. So much more action was wasted bc the characters acted like actual people. In genshin Amber starts off as hostile first and I know, not gun to head hostile but once she actually talks with us she gets friendly. There is a compromise here. I hope that the story wont get bullied into submission bc fans get bitchy. Although its good that the company actually listens.

They had to scrap away so many great aspects of the game for some I feel really disappointed by that. Some characters not being friendly enough from the get go could have been really great in the character development later and that moment where Rover fought crownless solo being mad at crownless seemed so much expressive than the version we are playing right now. I know it's not Kuro game's fault at all, I would say they had to do it because the majority of the Gacha gaming community consists of Genshin players which mostly consits of kids and man childs, so yeah what can we do about
