My 10-year-old has Stargardts, which is a genetic form of juvenile macular degeneration that caused her to lose her vision at 7-years-old. I mention this because she wanted to go to Taylor's concert this year after being a huge fan since she was a tiny little lady... and we took her to the Tampa show. Taylor had light up bracelets distributed to her audience members as they entered the concert. Eventually there was a moment where all the audience's bracelets lit up to form various shapes (hearts, for example), and it was such a nice thing to see. People were commenting, "Look, love!" and so on and I told my daughter (who I thought may be lost on what the fuss was about), "Those bracelets are lighting up in a way that makes it look like love, " to which she replied, "I know, I can feel it."

It was a very uplifting, positive, unifying experience for anyone in attendance, I think, and I am even more heartened to see her further extend that message of respect, equality, inclusivity, and unity today. WTG, Taylor.

I personally applaud Taylor Swift because she is a young woman encouraging her generation to get involved in voting for their future. To the young women out there, the rights and privileges that you were born into -- were NOT always out there. Women in American haven't even had the right to vote for 100 years yet. Going to work, being able to drive and own property -- these are all ideas that are relatively new. But these out of touch octogenarians in Congress need to retire amid glory and mentor their successor as they leave office with grace.

But young people you are the MOST influential vote for your lives and these times. You are voting for your generation. Go forth and Inspire as you stand in life to vote!

I am SO sick of the right wing banging on the drum of "the liberal entertainment industry & the liberal media" (a drum that they were banging as far back as Richard Nixon's campaign as VP for Eisenhower in 1952). The way Conservatives & Republicans are framing this story involving Taylor Swift shows that they are all for the freedom of speech and expressing your political ideology if you're a celebrity, so long as they agree with Conservatives & Republicans. Also, why are Republicans & Conservatives so surprised that more and more minorities, women, non-Christians, and young people are leaving their Party & ideology? I mean, when you pander primarily to old, conservative, Christian, Caucasian men (which is a group that represents less a % of the U.S. population every decade), then you'll find you have fewer supporters of your political arguments and values.
