We bought the best version of this car. We got it in orange and I loved it. But after 5 months we sold it back to the dealer because it has no power and did bad on gas. We ended up leasing the 2015 Subaru Legacy 3.6r and wow this car is beautiful. Does the same on gas and is way stronger

Love Subies but this paint job makes this car look like a freaking taxi!

Having owned a 2015 Limited XV Crosstrek (orange), I find this review pretty fair and accurate . . . except, it's lots of fun to drive for me! Have owned an Audi A4, Acura Integra, Ford Mustang, Honda CRX Si, etc. and this car grabs me in both its confident feel and fun factor. I didn't buy it to burn the streets, but it's zippy where needed in my everyday driving and has an inspiring, solid all-around feel with loads of practicality. I downsized from an Outback and Explorer without missing anything, because of the roof rack and (hidden) EcoHitch, so getting better mileage in an enjoyable ride has been an upgrade for my experience.

The yellow is an amazing colour, but the Limited's better soundproofing is what tipped me into purchasing that trim package level instead of Premium. Doing A/B tests with dealer cars, the difference in road noises on both local and highway was night/day, for me.

Even though it's surprisingly good with roll despite being lifted compared to the Impreza, I replaced the rear sway bar with the STI's version, which helped with both turning and highway stability quite noticeably.

My wife has a 15 Crosstrek Limited. Its pretty nice but I'd say you are pretty spot on in this review. She loves it so that's what's important. I have the 15 WRX for my fun anyway

I reserved one of these (in white) today and can't wait to get it. Like yours, most of the reviews I've seen say the main negative aspect is the engine, but that's not a huge issue for me. I'd much rather get decent gas mileage than power. I've coming from a PT Cruiser, so I wanted to maintain decent cargo room and increase ground clearance, while not upgrading in size too much. I think this will be great for me. Thanks for your review!

I'm surprised you didn't mention the different radiator that all XV Crosstreks use that aren't equipped on the Impreza. It's the same part number for SH chassis Subaru Forester radiators.

One of the things that interests me as a WRX/STI fan is if Subaru start to make better cars for everyday drivers etc it could fund some more development for the STI and get it back to its glory days, ie on par or maybe even more so than the likes of the M3/M4 and so on.

I really wish Subaru would put the WRX Drivetrain in this....love mine. Best Crossover under 30k on the market. Just, not that fun to drive, totally agree with your review after owning my XTrek for 26 months now

Good/ accurate review. just surpassed 100 000 kms on my '14 crosstrek. had to replace wheel bearings at 30 000 but haven't had any issues since. no concerns re: oil consumption. good car and I like the CVT. i pull a micro trailer (trailer+gear+wife and rottweiler = 680 kg/ 1500 lbs) and it pulls fine (have a brake controller too). also the best winter vehicle i've owned (with good winter shoes). i'm 6'4 and i fit fine tho not the most comfortable seats. also wish subaru would have included x-mode from the onset (will be available in 2018).

If you had to chose one as a daily driver for your spouse, keeping practicality in mind, mpg, and added price for features; would you choose the xv or forester?

Why didn't you analyze the suspension or the engine usability at the beginning of the video?

Road noise is the only reason i don't want to settle on a 2017 Crosstrek quite yet(all though they say they've added alittle more sound insulation for the 16+ models). They seem to drive fine around town(no hard acceleration), ride is good, and styling is good.

These also have a thicker rear sway bar (20mm I believe VS the Impreza premium's 16mm) which accounts for the lack of body roll and good handling.

I have a 2014 Impreza Sport and love it. I think I'd love a Crosstrek even more though.

I like your car reviews and educational videos. Can you recommend a educational video on Individual Throttle Body's (ITB'S ). Thank you

very spot on review I have the base impreza not the xv but your review matched the characteristics of my impreza exactly and practicality is the main reason I bought the car and during last winter it kicked ass here in eastern Pennsylvania with all the hills we have

Love your video's, much more consumer technical oriented than the other channels.  Could you do a review of the Kia Soul Base 1.6 with a Manual?  All I see are the Soul ! with the full package.  I am curious to see how the 1.6 Manual holds up against the 2.0 Automatic.  Thanks !!

I just recently discovered your channel, and I am really enjoying your videos.  Thank you for taking the time to make them.

Any plans to review the new Mazdaspeed 3 when it's released?  I'm curious to see how it compares to the Subaru WRX and STI.

I like the new close-up panning over the controls as you point them out, more work i know, but adds to the video i think.
