He’s still a talented actor at the end of the day. He’ll win his Oscar in the near future ♥️

Austin didnt lose ANYTHING. He won the Golden Globe, AACT International, Satellite, and BAFTA Awards for Best Actor. Far more people saw the ELVIS movie than saw Whale. ELVIS has been streamed for a total of about 2.7 billion minutes by HBO Max viewers in the U.S. since it came to the platform Aug. 8, 2022, according to new data from Nielsen.. The PEOPLE have spoken. F the Oscars. It doesn't mean what it used to.

Honestly, Brendan and Austin have been each other’s biggest cheerleaders the entire awards season (pre to post). Both would have been happy to see the other win that Oscar. I respect that.

I’m ashamed of the academy for not picking Austin. I thought he’d win for sure. His portrayal of Elvis was absolutely phenomenal, authentic, and unforgettable. Brendan’s acting was great, but Austin put his entire heart and soul into this. His energy and passion was unmatched. Not only that, but he truly connected to Elvis in real life. His mother passed away at the same age Elvis was when his mother passed, he cried so much during his audition video, and he was truly haunted by the role.
Regardless, he truly conformed into Elvis Presley; he didn’t give a mere impression but a true transformation. He acted, sounded, and sang just like The King. He’s the closest thing you could get to being Elvis in this generation. His talent is limitless.
Not only did he lose Best Actor, but the film didn’t win even ONE Oscar of the EIGHT it was nominated for. Elvis was a historic legend and you’d think they’d award the film at least one for the sake of respecting The King.
At least Austin won a Golden Globe and BAFTA award for his performance. At least _they_ appreciated his performance. 🏆

I don't think you guys realize what an honor it is for these actor just to be there.
Let's be honest you can't have your Cake and eat it too. Austin Still has plenty of chances to show the academy that he's worthy. He already won enough awards. Leonardo Dicaprio didn't win an Oscar until 2016...let's not forget. I'm sure Austin well be Okay...life is not a movie..you don't just get handed everything. If Austin actually Won tonight, I'm sure it will be more of a curse than a Blessing...NO ONE would've been Happy for him...They would've all Envied him for "how good he has it" and they would strip away every bit of happiness he has inside of him with time...hollywood and the people in it aren't as sweet or nice as they appear...they are people after all...they're all greedy and blood thirsty no matter how much money or fame they achieve...they're always made to feel like their never enough...because they will always be at the mercy of the powerful studios and directors.. you gotta let God Guide your life...we've become too used to social media and followers and "control" of how everyone sees us and perceives us.

AUSTIN is a CLASS act, he shook his head and stood up, smiled and clapped. He DID win AACTA Best Actor, Golden Globe Best Actor, the Bafta Best Actor and several other awards for his breakout performance and he is now and FOREVER will be an Oscar nominee! . In MY heart Austin won the Oscar we can now look forward to his upcoming movies and thank God for his precious talent.

Brendan deserves it, he disappear from public eyes and film industries for years then made a powerful comeback.

It’s Brendan for me. He has proven himself over and over again, since the beginning of his career, and still have in The Whale

Brendan is the winner. This kind of controversy is not necessary and also most of the people support Brendan. His performance was clearly outstanding.

The reason Austin Butler lost to the Whale is because people could relate more with the Whale & the great job Brendan Fraser did.

You know it's pretty fucking amazing that not only he was nominated for an Oscar at only 31 year of age but he was the frontrunner for the category. I truly believe he lost because he's still young. The academy usually does not give out awards to young male actors also Brendan might not be ever nominated again but Austin still has a long career ahead of his and lots of chances to get nominations again. Whatever he has achieved its already great!
This might be a blessing in disguise coz if he had won then he would have been pressured to always pick roles/movies that will appeal to the Oscars but now he atleast has a little more freedom to choose what role he's gonna do without that enormous pressure

I've watched both Elvis and The whale movies And this is my humble observation. The performance of Austin Butler in Elvis truly entertained the wiewers, but Brendan Fraser acting in the whale moved the viewers.
That why Fraser got the Oscars, they gave the trophy to the one who is really deserving.

I think the choice to name Fraser the winner was the right choice. While Im sure Austin is upset that he didnt win, he's been very gracious about it. Why can't we do the same?

Although Austin was up against some pretty good actors yes he definitely deserved to win for portraying Elvis he's got my vote he's the best.❤❤

Numerous critics also predicted Fraser was going to win. It may have been a close race.

Austin deserved to win the Oscar. He didn't just play Elvis, he became Elvis for 3 years and all the coaching and study made people watching wonder is the Elvis or is that Austin? It most definitely was Austin. People say he's young he'll be here again -- statistically that is not true. I do hope one day he does get an Oscar because he performed an Oscar winning role in Elvis.
