An example of honor/shame in a business setting. Dick is instructed to stay out of the meeting with the Korean deal breakers. Unfortunately, he runs out of patience as he's lacking control over the situation and barges into the meeting midway. The Koreans are greatly offended when he openly enforces that they are making a mistake and when he states they looked at the portfolio the wrong way. At the end, he says it's not about the price but the way in which the situation was handled. Dick openly shamed them stating they were in the wrong and making a mistake, not taking into consideration how his direct and upfront communication could shift the scales.

He reeked of desperation.

That's what killed the deal.

Damn, they portrayed Dick Fuld to be a rude, arrogant, ignorant, insensitive clown.

Not sure if this is exactly how it went down. If it was then it is just sad that a corporate leader is that ignorant and tone deaf about international transactions.

it was all part of the plan apriotly for fuld to be the missing man and come back with new plan the plan that min looked at had 10's of billion(housing)(toxic) he didn't agree to was sudden thats why he backed out. don't know why they made him japanese.
1. day 1. min and fuld's man agree to a plan.
2. day 2 fuld comes in with a better plan with 35billion in housing
3. day 2 fuld's man gives min an altered plan they agreed on hopely he doesn't notice or he's so focused on fuld that he doesn't seethe changes
3. day 2 min leaves after consulting with his right hand man and looking at a white board (with the main agreed to deals/topics of the deal) and noticing a second Trap Lehman snuck in he leaves.

i think the filmmakes think most people cant tell/know the differnce between koreans/japanese so made Min very japanese.

How in the hell didn't Dick Fuld know his actions would fuck up the whole business deal when he showed no respect for the Koreans when telling them that they were stupid to focus on the real estate portion of the company. Asian cultures do respect Americans in business by focusing on developing a good relationship where as the Americans are focused primarily on the transaction. Its Americans like in this scene show disrespect by questioning their look at the numbers in the portfolio. And why doesn't Dick Fuld have nothing to do in the scene?

That Democratic Kentucky Governor would be an excellent choice. He knows how to win in a RED state.

Westerners are too polite. Why is it that westerners always have to learn and respect other nations' cultures, but other nations' people are never expected to learn and adopt western culture?

As a native Korean you should not storms into the room and interrupt some one who's making the call.
Because that's very very rude behaviour there and we don't do that no matter how important information you have, you don't do such thing.
