I really liked her character. In season 5 they tried to make her this control freak but after what Ross did, who can blame her. But she was a genuine person who loved Ross

As much as I love this show, I do think they were one of those tight knit group of friends that never really welcomed anyone else in, looking back on episodes now they were dismissive of Emily from the get go. It's also like the time Chandler criticised Janine for making Joey's apartment 'too girly' despite the fact Joey liked it.

I find it odd the resistance that a group of friends have with an "outsider". One of them makes a joke about stealing and it is funny, then the outsider understands it and makes an other joke on the same theme (a really good one, by the way) and they have the "you're weird" look on their face and she have to explain the obvious.

The way they reacted to that obvious joke made me realise how mean they were to her, at least in the beginning (mean maybe isn't the right word but idrk what is so)
