I can honestly say I bopped and stepped to Mr. Mayfield's music all my life. We are both from Chicago and I tell ya, to have seen him perform in person, even with the Impressions, I will never forget. They were all classy and extremely talented. Curtis writing songs and playing that guitar..OMG..he had it all and I miss him so much.

I still have the record. It came out in the early 80s. The album had one scratch, but I got around it...seems like I could never find a new copy! Of course we know that Mary J used this as her sample for her top selling record but I tell you, this original is where it's always been! Hollah. But truly, he was raised in Chicago where I was born and this man was a genius in every way. You had to see him and Impressions to realize the impact they had. And when he died people hardly said a word!
