High School Basketball Foul Video Goes Viral

Video of a high school basketball game between between two Washington State high schools (Connell and Highland) is going viral. The video is of six fouls committed by Connell players that are aggressive in nature, and has evoked a spirited response. But Patrick Jones says we need to keep things in perspective.

How can you compare trash talk to flagrantly fouling a player and risking his being injured? That may be one of the most asinine comparisons I've ever heard. And it doesn't matter if the culprit was a offensive lineman playing against smaller guys- he was playing BASKETBALL at the time, not football. There is a difference, you know.

Do Not Agree. Comparing trash-talk to the flagrant fouls is weak & wrong. To say nothing of the refs & BOTH coaches proves how badly you covered this crime.

34 is making up for lack of skills on the basketball floor. He should have been ejected from the game. And judging from his smirks and lack of concern for another human being's safety, I'm pretty sure he intentionally was trying to hurt the opponent. No amount of trash talk justifies that kind of behavior. So happy to hear there were some consquences. If he were my son, he would be done with sports because he obviously didn't get the sportsmanship memo.

They were hard fouls & the kids weren't making any, legitimate plays on the ball. BUT you must blame the COACH for this. I understand the concept of "you get 5 fouls so make them count" but this is beyond the pale. The coach needs sanctioning.
