I told my husband the other day that I plan to use my slow cooker more as the weather gets nicer. It can do the cooking for me while we are out enjoying the weather. Also, in the heat of summer the slow cooker doesn't heat up the whole house and we can still enjoy hearty home cooked meals. Thanks for these great ideas!

Several of these would be a great one to use as a freezer meals. Everything could be put into a bag, frozen, and then later thawed and put into the crockpot.

Military spouse here! Every time my spouse and I have moved, we've spent about 2 months in hotels waiting for our HHG (household goods) to arrive- we keep moving back and forth OCONUS to the mainland. When I get to a new place I buy a crock-pot and start cooking my own meals, instead of constantly eating out. It's healthier and saves money, and it's easy. If you don't have a full kitchen in temporary lodging, a microwave and a crockpot are your new best friends. Main dishes in the crock-pot, microwave steamable veggies, instant mashed potatoes, or chinese-take out white rice all come together to make easy and perfect meals.

I am going to visit my son next week in his new house - he doesn't have an oven yet! I am taking all of your crock pot recipes along. I don't know if I can wait that long to try the beef and broccoli. I never owned rice vinegar, ginger paste or hoisin sauce until you came along. I made the chicken and gravy for dinner tonight, turned out very good. I mixed the soup, water, brown gravy mix and ranch seaoning together first. Helped to distribute the flavors more evenly. I recommend this receipe!
