Written in 1932 for the motion picture ‘Hallelujah, I’m a Bum’, Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart’s ‘You Are Too Beautiful’ has been recorded by many jazz greats including Frank Sinatra, Thelonious Monk and Sarah Vaughan. British jazz pianist Derek Smith’s performance became famous for its inclusion in the score for Woody Allen’s 1986 comedy-drama ‘Hannah and Her Sisters’.

Best rendition of this timeless classic from the original motion picture soundtrack of Hannah and Her Sisters (1986).

Hannah and Her Sisters brought me here from one of my sudden, and unexpected, whims. This version hit the spot. Thank you.

I’ve been searching for this take. It was in Hannah and Her Sisters, and I think it’s the most moving and thoughtful variation of this title.

When I heard it in "Hannah and her sisters" right away I imagined New York City in the late 1940s at night, elegantly dressed people going to cinemas, theaters or jazz clubs.
