Etho MindCrack SMP - Episode 191: Tools at Last

Minecraft Survival. In this Minecraft episode we do some enchanting at the new endermen farm, setup a Seinfeld trivia game for Beef, do some work around the race track, and go for a short little tour.

As many of you have probably heard I'm not an official Mindcracker anymore. Uh, basically... I've got to be careful what I say too... Yeah, I'm not super happy about leaving the group. It was kind of my decision though. The group has kind of changed a lot. I know when you guys think of Mindcrack you think of all the fun we had in like Season 3, Season 4, Feed the Beast, Crackpack, and yeah we definitely had some good times. But in time things change, interests change within the group and the focus of the group has kind of changed too.

In order to stay in the group I was required to sign a trademark agreement, which I was a little bit uncomfortable about, just the whole idea of it. You know, I probably would have went through with it but then the thing is it sounds like the Mindcrack guys are going to be doing a lot more business stuff in the future, like merchandising and booths at conventions and all that kind of stuff. I really have no interest in that kind of stuff. To stay in the group I would have to participate in the meetings and all that and I would be spending hours every month in these meetings talking about t-shirts and merchandising and legal stuff and I might have to hire a lawyer to look over contracts and I don't care about that kind of stuff, so. They were kind of looking to get rid of anybody that felt like they didn't fit in anymore and I felt like I didn't fit in anymore. So I decided to leave. So we kind of left on good terms but I'm not super happy with the way things have gone. I know a lot of you are frustrated with how content has changed and I am too, to a certain extent. But it is what it is and I've accepted it.

I would have been happy to stay in the group and gone wherever it went but if certain legal things are required of me I don't want to be involved. But I'm definitely pretty proud of everything we've done in the group and had good times in it. I wish the rest of the guys the best of luck for whatever happens with them in the future and hopefully I can still do stuff with like Zisteau and Terraria, I would love to play that with him. And I'm pretty close with Doc and Anderz has been cool with me and a bunch of the other guys. I haven't really done much with the new members but I have nothing against them... I do get a little bit emotional talking about the Mindcrack stuff but I've accepted it. It's not like this has just happened it's kind of been going on for months now... The circumstances are a little bit different for everyone that left but that's my case.

MAN! I have so much to comment about!
First did anyone else hear a phone go off when he was about half way around BTC's circle pathway of quartz? I re-watched it and didn't hear it again so it might have been my imagination. I think it was around 18:25
Second! EthosLab I don't think you take fall damage in a mine cart if you land on tracks. I believe it is only if you hit the ground. I am basing this off a roller coaster I built like 4 months or more ago so I might be wrong. They may have changed it in a past update.
Third! HE POSTED TWO VIEDOS IN ONE DAY OH MY GOD I LOVE ETHO! This made me so happy :)
FOURTH!!!! Is it possible to get thorns on anything other than a chest plate without using books?
Fifth: Does VintageBeef have to pay 64 oak logs or 64 oak planks if he gets an answer wrong
Sixth! (IKR! 6 ideas in 1 comment. What a loser.) I think if you make the delay longer on the race track thing it won't matter because if they have a horse that is fast it probably won't be in last place. And if there is a high jumping horse that can jump over both fences then it deserves to because it probably won't be that fast.
Seventh: Have you ever seen a comment this long that isn't in an argument about religion vs atheism or vise versa?

the quartz floor in BTC's base looks like it's made of upside-down stairs. The bottom texture on quartz stairs has a smoother look than full blocks (they have borders that create a tiled effect). If you use quartz slabs (upper half) for the floor, you get 6 slabs per 3 blocks, essentially allowing you to cover 128 spaces while spending only 64 quartz blocks. If you use stairs you get 4 stairs per 6 blocks, giving you only 42 blocks for all 64 spent. If BTC did indeed use quartz stairs for that floor, he must have REALLY wanted that particular texture because he made his work much harder.

Just finished my fourth full rewatch of Etho's MindCrack SMP. All of them have been at different stages of my life. This time totally different from all the rest. It's always good to have some Etho content to chill and relax to.

Hey Etho, here is a tip use gold items in the enchanting table to lock the enchantment. Before you try enchant anything (tools, armor). Gold has a better enchantment rate and once you load it in you and just switch it for the item you want. Hope this helps! Keep up the great videos.

I don't actually play minecraft at all, but i think i know how the enchants work, kinda. Pretty sure they're based on the set of enchants a few tools can get. For example, pickaxes, axes, and shovels all share the exact same possible enchants (as far as i know at least) so i you put in a shovel, an axe, or a pick, i think they'll show the same enchants. Helmet, boots, and pants/chest have different possible enchants. That's why the helmet had proj prot and the pants had unb. Pants and chests get the same enchants, so they'll be te same.

the chest plate and the pants have the same enchantment, however the boots and the helmet do not share the same because they have other possible enchantments that are limited to only that item.
