The Porsche 911 GT3 is a sports car manufactured by the German brand Porsche. It was presented in 1999 in the 911 996 generation as a variant of the 911 Carrera models, emphasized by its great appearance and sporty mechanics typical of a GT3 championship racing car but without neglecting the ability to be driven daily. .

It should be noted that the GT3 is not the most powerful version of the 911 range. Examples such as the 911 Turbo and the 911 GT2 have more horsepower, the latter being the fastest 911 approved for the street with a bi-turbo engine and a chassis of competition. The 911 GT3 RS is the most radically sporty and pure model in the Porsche range. It represents the true style and feel of a 911. It is a car with aerodynamics and chassis designed for use on the track, but approved for legal use on the road. Its 4.0-liter naturally aspirated engine produces 510 horsepower at 9, 000 RPM, referencing the past and older generations of 911s, characterized by its opposed 6-cylinder naturally aspirated engines. Its excellent times on the old Nürburgring circuit show what the true habitat of this car is.

Origin
:

The acronym RS is the abbreviation of "Rennsport" and means "Racing Sports" in German, they had already been used in mythical models such as the Carrera 2.7 RS from 1972 or the 911 964 RS from 1991, models halfway between the use in On public roads and on the track, the GT3 RS inherits that sporting tradition perfectly.

Motorization
:

The GT3 consists of these 381 hp (280 kilowatts) 996 GT3 RS mk2 models that propel them up to 306 km / h (190 miles per hour) with a 0 - 100 km / h (62 miles per hour) of 4.4 s (in the 996 mk1 version there was no RS), then there is the version of the 997 GT3 RS mk1 with 420 hp (309 kilowatts), 310 km / h (193 miles per hour) and a 0 - 100 km / h (62 miles per hour) of 4.2 s and a restyling of the 997 GT3 RS mk2 with 450 hp (331 kilowatts), 312 km / h (194 miles per hour) and a 0 - 100 km / h (62 miles per hour) of 4 s.

Bodywork
:

As for the bodywork, it takes the base of the Carrera 4, which gives it 44 mm (1.7 inches) more width in the rear tracks, giving it a more muscular appearance, on this base, a slimming cure is applied, mounting carbon fiber and plastic panels plus a spectacular carbon fiber adjustable rear spoiler, thanks to this, the weight drops from the 1495 kg (3, 296 pounds) of a Carrera S to the 1, 375 kg (3, 031 pounds) of the 997 GT3 RS and 1, 360 kg (2, 998 pounds) for the 996 GT3 RS.

Other improvements applied include the six-speed close-ratio gearbox, the lightweight inertia flywheel clutch (which enables faster speed ups), the lightweight carbon fiber seats with six-anchor belts or the imposing safety cage built-in as standard.

Approach
:

By approach, the natural rivals of the GT3 RS are: the Ferrari 430 Scuderia and the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, although for power and speed the GT2 is also the worst nightmare of the two Italians. The previous ones were lighter and more radical versions of the Ferrari F430 and the Lamborghini Gallardo. Despite the GT3 RS's power disadvantage of around 100 hp (74 kilowatts), the GT3 RS is capable of playing a more than worthy role against its Italian rivals.

Aside from the spectacular orange with black contrast, the GT3 RS is produced in three more color combinations: Green with black contrast, silver with orange contrast, and black with orange contrast.

In 2019, 224, 000 Euros, taxes excluded, separate the potential buyer from this German wonder in Spain.
