I kinda hope that there will be weekly lore-based challenges that push the story forward

Sure new heroes are always the main draw but new heroes isn't something thats exclusive to OW2. OW1 has new heroes too and Sojourn, Junker Queen and Kiriko could have been added to OW1. OW2 just feels like 2 years worth of Heroes and Heroes rework thats could have been released in OW1. PvE was originally the selling point of OW2 and even this has been pushed back to next year and I fear it will be treated as mini missions like the Archives event.

The problem with heroes being locked behind a paywall is that people would legitimately pay full price for the game if everything was able to be unlocked through playing. Now heroes being locked behind a paywall blocks off potential counters and essentially make it unfair imo

Here's the way I see things:

- I'm super excited for their overall roadmap. It has been reported that 8 unreleased heroes are ready or in final testing. Combine that with hero releases every 4 months and we have enough content hero-wise for 2.5 years *right now.* That gives them plenty more time to make more heroes, so content drought isn't gonna be an issue.
- Heroes being in the battle pass is a little scummy, but overall as long as you play the game, you should get the heroes. You only really have to pay for 500 credits if you complete every weekly challenge to get the bp, so no shortage there. Plus, if you don't get the hero, there are other ways down the line to obtain them, so you aren't missing out.
- 5v5 will be a little frustrating for those who had 6-stacks back in OW1, but there have been rumors of a new guild system being implemented down the line, plus a possible 6v6 mode in the arcade.

OVERALL:
The only thing I have against OW2 right now is that the heroes are in the battle pass. That's it. Everything else looks fantastic.

I think taking out the second tank in Overwatch 2, is causing serious Balance Issues on the Maps as they still feel like they are Designed for 6v6 instead of 5v5. Plus, you can already tell that Certain tanks wont be played much. With the current changes they applied to all tank heroes, makes me feel like in a 6v6 setup wont be that bad. As you only have 2 tanks with a shield and i think they should reverse it.

I hope there is a permanent 6v6 game mode in the arcade, for those who want to still play 6v6. It won’t be the most balanced thing in the world, but it will be there if you have an extra mate that joins.

The biggest issue with 5v5 is the fact that it was a cope out to actually balancing the game. They didn't want to properly nerf characters, so they convoluted a massive balancing system just to avoid it

Worst part for me is the fact that OW1 isn’t going to be online anymore. We just won’t be able to play it anymore. It makes sense that they’d do this, it saves money to just shut the first one down and replace it but I’m going to miss it.

I think Jaz put it best: we paid for the first game with the understanding that we'd be getting heroes for free, and now they're forcing us to leave that game and have this one instead where that isn't the case. _That's_ what is really not okay about this at least right off the bat. The bigger issue for everyone will be further down the road when these locked heroes start to add up.

Also I think we need to consider that not everyone is from a place in the world where forking out money for microtransactions like that is feasible. Those people will be disproportionately negatively affected by such a system.

If they are willing to make the new hero unlock at a lower level (like 20~30) or auto-unlock for everyone after a certain time (ex. 2 weeks or 3 weeks), it'll probably be better for those casual casual players that only got to play a few hours a week.

I'm actually really looking forward to OW2.

They def just did 5 v 5 to reduce game search times. They literally just removed 1 spot out of the least popular role in order to make it easier to put a team together.

As a casual player, who mains tank/support, the 5v5 is nice, but terrible at the same time. Like I said, I'm a casual player. I don't do comp, and spend most of my time in arcade modes like Mystery Heroes and Total Mayhem. So, when I do play roleQ, I like being confident that there's always another tank or support to pick up some of my slack if I'm dead or something. The good thing is that being a GIGATANK feels really really good, it also feels really really punishing if you do go down. I don't want to be the ONLY tank on my team, but I do like being an uber version of a tank.

Blizzard is guilty of PREDATORY monetization across all of their properties. It is the normal trend, but when people wonder why game communities are all gone to shit, it's because they are subjected to addiction, not joy. They lost me. The next developer that creates a game out of love rather than addiction, like when Jeff was in charge of OW, I will give them a shot.

The heros in the battle pass legit turn me away from the game. Blizzard hire ups pushing down crap that makes people spend more money and it just annoy me. I really doubt the grind will be any good to experince if the game is gonna last for 2 months.

Until they revert that decision, I am just not gonna play this game much.

I'm quite disappointed with the amount of heroes. I would've expected them to pick up the pace of hero development because of how they could switch hero development around internally without the fixed schedule and had a bigger team, instead, they slowed down drastically. I thought we would've gotten more heroes than with the old cycle, instead, we got way less (atm 5 !! heroes missing if they would've continued the old cycle). Also we've got way less maps than what they promised ("multiple new maps for each game mode").

We've been telling ourselves that we'd get more content in the future for years now. Ow2 was *the* chance for them to deliver. Not only did they underdeliver, had some of the worst communication in the industry, but they're also putting everything behind a paywall now and are changing the gameplay entirely to a new, more casual playerbase.

Naturally, I'm feeling let-down. I will still keep my interest in Overwatch and will be open for the game, likely finish some battle passes. BUT until they really improve the amount of content I will not defend the game in the way that I used to.

It would suck if you really wanted to play MW3 but couldn’t because CoD Ghost replaced it.

Gonna be honest, I just want a Scottish hero and map, then I'll be happy 😊
