How to Set Up AeroGarden Harvest Elite Slim | AeroGarden Review Series Episode 2

Join me as I set up the AeroGarden Harvest Elite Slim for the first time in my second video of my Full AeroGarden Review. I walk through the set up guide and instructions to set up my AeroGarden. I set up AeroGarden with the 6 Seed Pod Gourmet Herb Set which will grow an entire herb garden right on my kitchen counter.
The setup includes assembling the unit, adding water, adding plant food, and adding the seed pods.
Once the AeroGarden is all set up, I walk through turning it on and adjusting the settings via the digital control panel. The AeroGarden will automatically turn on and off the pump, which helps aerate the water, and the lights so they will be on for the correct amount of time each day.

very helpful, thank you!! I set it up with flowers instead of greens and it took me a while to figure out how to reset for greens. I unplugged it and left it unplugged for a bit. I initially set the clock at the current time, not the time I wanted it to go on. so, your video helped me through both of those issues. Thank you so much!!!

The "pillar" contains the float switch that lets you know when you need to add water. The hole at the top is simply a vent to allow the level inside the "pillar" to be the same height as the water in the rest of the unit. Nothing bad happens if you add water to slightly above the "fill to here" on the top of the float switch.

I have a question, I'm new to the AeroGarden and have just set it up. The booklet says to rinse and refill the water bowl monthly. Did you do this and if so, how? When the plants start to fill in, you would need to unplug and pretty much remove the plants to do so. I'm worried that doing so would do damage to my herbs. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

Did you ever get your starter kit? If you test the pump, there are two ways to tell if it’s working, remove one of the pods and you should see water coming from the little chute. Place your hand against the unit and you can feel it run, I heard it in your video but it IS super quiet.

Thank you for the video. I used it to set up the AeroGarden I received in JULY. My only question is how did you set the light to start at 5AM? Those buttons are touchy!

I went through the set up as you did, with adding the water and fertilizer and seed pods before plugging it in and no lights came on or anything, so it was a bear to remove the water and fertilizer and moistened the seed pods to try and send the unit back because it wasn't working.

Great video! When pressing the buttons it would help to see what is going on with the screen if you could do a close up on that in the future it would help. Btw my slim has sprouts in all the pods except dill now. How is yours doing now? Keep up the good work. :)

I use well and even water out of a spring on my property never any issues with my Kratky set ups just got this to try for small herbs
Also u can use masterblend in these units i have a different make that ive grown big pepper plants in so u can use any hydrophonic solution masterblend is great.

On the back of the machine is a switch labeled 'Pump'. What does that do? I cannot tell a difference when it is to the left or right.
