People are going to be confused about Gillette being named Boston stadium as it’s literally 45-60 mins away from the stadium without traffic

God it’s going to be hell covering up the AT&T stadium signs considering the logo and name is readable from a theme park 1.5 miles away

Literally all of these names are terrible.

They're changing the names of non sponsored stadiums too. Arrowhead is now Kansas City stadium.

There's zero reason for these names to be as bland as they are. Toronto's BMO Field has consistently been known as Exhibition Stadium when a sponsored name can't be used (like the NHL Centennial classic), as that was the name of the 4 previous stadiums that have been at the site. Now, it's Toronto Stadium. There's zero culture in it.

Spending hundreds of billions to host the world cup is just a Qatar thing btw

I don’t care if FIFA doesn’t want these sponsors broadcasted on the TV/radio. In 2023, FIFA made 1.17 billion dollars. Just let the names of the stadiums be announced

1994 was the first World Cup to make money. It made so much in profits that it covered the debts from every World Cup COMBINED. It made so much money that every nation that attempted to qualify got a check.

Let me just say: everyone in Philly is still gonna call it the Linc during the tournament, also don't be surprised if Mercedes-Benz sponsors the FIFA World Cup just to keep the stadium name in Atlanta

Can’t wait to have a World Cup Game 6 hours away, and still have to watch it on tv cuz tickets are absolutely mind blowingly expensive

It wouldn't be called NY/NJ Stadium, it would be called "The Meadowlands Stadium" since its in the Meadowlands.

Miami wanted to expand its Metrorail to get people coming to the games from the airport to the stadium that's well to the north, but it's estimated it'll be ready by 2036, 10 years *after* the games.

No one who goes to Arrowhead calls it GEHA Field at Arrowhead anyway, so Kansas City’s good to go.

With countless stadiums for nfl and cfb games few regions are as equipped to hoast the world cup than the United States

Plus soccer has gotten a lot more popular here in the last 30 years, odds are I'm gonna drive to Kansas city to see a match or two

Basically, they're not trying to give the brands free advertisement

Well Australia has ACCOR Stadium in West Sydney, named Olympic Stadium, Suncorp is Brisbane Rectangular Stadium, AAMI Park is Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, MARVEL Stadium is Docklands Stadium, Allianz Stadium is Sydney Football Stadium and Optus Stadium is Perth Stadium when the Socceroos, Matildas or any friendly matches are played
