It would be an interesting development if they confirm it’s cancer and it’d be even more impressive if they actually go through with her dying like they did with hawkmoth. Which would be interesting if she does die and that’s why sublime is introduced to take over the pig miraculous when rose dies… I doubt they’ll go hard on that but it would be very interesting if they actually did

Well, I had a Craniopharyngioma in 2016. After that, I received chemotherapy, in other words, radiation therapy, to shrink what was left of the tumor. I lost a lot of hair during those sessions, including eyebrows, eyelashes, and the hair on my head (I lost a lot of it when I showered, it was hardly noticeable). I think maybe Rose could be going through some similar treatment. If a person cuts their long hair and get radiation treatment, it's less noticeable.

I actually like the idea that she might have cancer/be severely sick(I know that sounds bad I promise i don’t mean it in a bad way). It makes her stand out as a character and like it’s kinda why shes such so bubbly and sweet like she’s trying to live life to it’s fullest and make as many friends and happy memories as she can.

My guess is cancer as it can return, even after initial treatment. Chemotherapy can cause hair to fall out, so it could be why it’s cut shorter. The photo Julika showed could be Rose getting chemotherapy. She’s wearing a pink ribbon in her hair, which may suggest breast cancer.

This is such a good theory, I definitely think she is losing her hair due to having chemo treatment right now. I really hope with the better writing on season 6 they can make an episode about her and confirm this theory.

I do think she's severly ill, but that the haircut is likely unrelated and is just a new style

(from a watsonian pov it's new year new look for everyone, and from a doylist pov it's both "new studio new look" and probably a way to show that a girl can still be very feminine while she has short hair (the show tends to try to have diverse role model for children))
