Francisco López Capillas - In horrore visionis

The Queen's Six sing López Capillas's setting of the occasional Requiem text, 'In horrore visionis nocturnae'. One of the first modern day recordings of this piece.

López Capillas was one of the very first western-style composers to be born in Mexico. Born to some of the earliest settlers in Nueva España, and thus, criollo. He was an ordained priest, bassoonist and organist, as well as a composer, and spent many years as chapelmaster at the Cathedral in Mexico City.
