How to Disassemble Mario Kart Rainbow Road Hot Wheels

Disassembly and tear down of Mario Kart Rainbow Road Hot Wheels Track.

This set is pretty easy to put together, and really fun for all ages, but is also quite large and bulky. Disassembly is less intuitive than you might think but isn't impossible with the right size of thin flathead screwdriver.

Thank you for taking the time to put this guide together. The instruction book just shows a magical arrow that illustrates that ‘it can’ come apart, without explaining how to use the tabs, or actually disassemble the track without damaging it.

I was furious trying to take ours apart. The instructions make it sound like it just comes apart easily and you basically run the risk of busting most of the tabs trying. It’s WAY too large to keep assembled.

That makes you not want to ever put it away but Lord knows I can’t have this huge track up all day every day. This is the one drawback. Hot wheels 6 lane track is sooo much easier and stores into itself and is on wheels. Wish that had made this one in a similar storage style

Taking hot wheels tracks apart has never occurred to me. Generally they stay up and then get beat around and broken.

I've just purchased this set, I'm waiting for it to arrive. I've heard about how un user friendly it is to take apart. Why Mattel? Why?
