DIY: Tying A Figure Eight Loop

Video tutorial on typing a Figure Eight Loop or also known as a Flemish loop and Flemish eight. This knot is used to put a loop at the end of the rope by creating a bight. It can jam under heaving loading conditions, therefore making it difficult to untie.

Thank you! Was struggling to follow the instructions on fishing line tutorials. This was very helpful!

I really like that you showed stills of the completed knot, taken from four different perspectives. I don't feel confident that I have learned to tie a knot correctly, unless it passes visual inspection.

Also, thank you for including the uses, pros, cons, and additional information in your description.

You have some of the easier to follow and clearly explained knot tying videos, which, in my book, means "better". Thank you.

I'm thinking 2 people couldn't figure it out. Very quick, good video.

Is there an advantage to using this knot instead of just an overhand knot? Both seem really difficult to untie. :)

Can you increase the loop size without having to undo the knot?
