In our area we've trained to move water from tank to tank without the use of the pump. When we take the cap off the steamer inlet we submerge another hard suction in the second tank. Put the cap on the male end tightly. Then pulled the hose across to the other tank. We then removed the cap from the male end still underwater and the water started transferring to the tank to the pumper.

2 things we did different with our Department, we always put a tarp down to protect the dump tank and always pull your tank dump spout up thru the inside. That way the water pressure helps keep it closed.

Nice drill!!! we just did a similar one not to long ago, food for thought because we learned a good lesson here, when you establish 2 pools or more and have the tanker / tender resource with steady bulk delivery established (close draft site to keep the shuttle steady) you may want your pool draft truck to have dual suctions into the pools, 1 6" suction will get maxed out around 1350 rpm or 1400 gal, if you run duel then you will have more water then what the pump can handle, even at 1400 gal (1) pool lasts about 4min or so, but to have that extra power at your finger tips is worth while, you may want to experiment with using a bowling pin in the pool to help keep the air from coming in and breaking the engines prime. Just things I'm toying with my dept at this time also.

We did this with 12 tankers(companies) in my area. We achieved a continuous flow to the ladder truck until we blew the water main at our hydrant (refill station).

In the UK we would just call in a HVP or two, its rare that you can't find an open source of water supply or a hydrant with in three km of a fire

Drill on this using 4 ffs at 2AM on a Wednesday on a two lane road with structure fire roaring and see how tough it is to keep flowing.

Awesome video. Needs a voiceover option though .

To me it just makes sense just to have the tanker truck be able to hook up to the pumper truck. Obviously that can't be done but I don't know why.

If they're going to be doing that they should be using a medium-sized to siphon pump

At the end there it becomes one big garden sprinkler

On Facebook, a user named Shoabe Riaz stole this video and reversed part to claim as theirs. They are a scammer and not a real actual person. To stop it, the best way is for the original video creator to complain. If I could share pics here, I would show you a screenshot. It's a recent steal and share so it's on Facebook flipped to reverse the view.
