Brother Mozart - A Masonic Appreciation

This video explores the significant influence of Freemasonry on Mozart's life and work. Multiple scholarly sources highlight how Mozart's Masonic affiliations, rooted in Enlightenment ideals, profoundly impacted his late compositions, both thematically and symbolically. His involvement provided him with a supportive social network and a philosophical framework that resonated deeply with his personal values. Specific musical works, such as The Magic Flute and the Masonic Funeral Music, are analysed for their overt and subtle Masonic symbolism. The text also addresses the social and political context surrounding Freemasonry in 18th-century Vienna, including both its acceptance and its scrutiny.

Mozart's funeral was a simple affair with only a few close friends and family present. He was buried in a common grave, which was the standard practice in Vienna at the time for those who couldn't afford a private burial. This has led to the misconception that he was buried in a pauper's grave, but this wasn't the case

*My takeaway from this as a Mason:*
When you’ve passed on to that stupendous structure beyond the fence of this realm, do you desire for those left to celebrate you or your works?

Interesting idea of using Eb Maj for its three flats; but you could use 3-5-7 as well. I'll have to try tuning my guitar in some strange modal way to represent that.
