#Perjury is a very serious crime. In fact, the general federal perjury statute set forth in 18 U.S.C. §1621 specifies that those found guilty of perjury may be imprisoned for up to five years or fined according to the statutory guidelines. These guidelines allow for fines of up to $250,000.

Then why is it that whenever you tune into a celebrity trial (or any documentary trial on #Netflix or some other platform) it seems that some witnesses are committing acts of perjury BUT nothing is being done about it?

Can you really lie under oath and get away with it?
