2016 Ford Mustang 5.0 V8 Review - Inside Lane

The all-new 2016 Ford Mustang is available in right hand drive for the first time in its 50 year history. We test this American icon to see if the 5.0 litre V8 coupe can take on modern rivals. 410 BHP and 386 lb ft torque is sent to the rear wheels via a six speed manual transmission. 0-62M MPH takes 4.8 seconds and this pony car will go onto 155 MPH. With a V8 engine you can have the 2016 Mustang for less than £35,000 a bargain in terms of performance! The Line Lock feature anchors the front wheels allowing for amazing burnouts.

Can this "bangs for your bucks" muscle car prove itself, or is it just a one trick pony?

I'm pretty happy with Ford going global with all of it's vehicles. Not only as a huge Mustang fan (I feel like they really upped their game with the Mustang knowing it would have to suit European drivers. For example, the IRS), but as a car enthusiast as well. finally getting RS and ST models in the states has been huge. Can't wait for you guys to get your hands on an RS.

Bought a 2016 in December and loving it. Still feels mint thanks to low mileage and a very careful lady owner from new. Having owned and driven older Mustangs the refinement of these S550 cars is a real revelation. Terrific engine and excellent balance in road driving, not a track day person. Well done Ford :)

Brilliant review. Nice to see the Mustang on this side of the Atlantic. That soundtrack is worth the asking price alone, I'm sure.

Correct is a relative term considering UK is one of the very very few places in the world with the driver seat on the right side.

Althougth I am a 4 banger lover. The hate that the Mustang is getting is totally uncalled for. The car is good for its price .

man one day this car will be mine.
I know it's taboo but realistically speaking I'd end up going for the ecoboost for its affordability too run it.
though I would cry ever seeing a v8 model

"On the correct side of the car" ;-) Well...it's practical for UK and other RHD countries customers. But really, a muscle car should be exactly like it is in the US: left hand drive. Naaa, just kidding. Have fun!

It's great they finally gave it independent suspension. It's a beautiful car. I do however prefer the more aggressive front of the previous generation, especially the headlights. I guess FORD needed to make it appeal to customers all over the world... Strange though, isn't it, because the only reason non Americans are buying it, is to get the classic american muscle car "I'm the coolest guy" in town feeling. :-D

Ford took a gamble when they released the Mustang in Europe. This is not the kind of car you typically see on European roads, so I am surprised that it has appeal there.
