The Robert Mueller testimony also touched on how there was evidence that Russia favored Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election and Hillary Clinton's emails, among other things.

If Trump committed a real crime, it would've been essential for Mueller to say so. An actual crime that only couldn't be charged "but for" the OLC opinion is what would've trigged instant impeachment proceeding, the public support would've grown (not shrunk as it has), and the GOP would be feeling the pressure to get on board. They found real crimes with Nixon and Clinton.. and they said so.
