The "Electric Engine" fixed to the back of the diesel engine(s), as Nick refers to it, is actually a 3 phase AC Motor / Alternator. With the Diesel off (and automatically separated) the MOTOR runs the boat, getting energy from batteries. When the Diesel is on (motor / alternator now auto connects), the AC motor becomes a charger for the batteries. Very efficient. AND, since DC Batteries can be charged from multiple sources at one time (it's a wiring thing), the diesels AND solar panels can charge the batteries even faster than just a single source. BONUS - plugged in to shore Mains, the onboard Inverter/Charger controlling the batteries, will use mains energy to also charge the batteries.

Wow those side decks are a surpirse! I love how the teak continues from the transom "door" all the way along the side to the foredeck and even the anchor handling gear. Looks very nice

Hi Nick, great to see more hybrid drive yachts being launched on the market. Reducing wear and tear on the diesel engines, lower maintenance costs, fuel lasts longer, and so on, better bang for our bucks. The design profile with the high bow is modern and sexy for a yacht at this price point. 1.8kw on the Solar array is an efficient solution, will be epic for sunny climates. The Diesel tank is 700 L/154 gal quite decent NM capability. I am adding this one to my top 10 list, thanks for another superb review.

First, this is a lovely boat with a quite clever layout. I do like these Greenlines and very happy to see you reviewing one Nick! I will be looking forward to the next vid. This tech is exactly what I would want on my long range cruiser. Imagine a similar setup on something like a Nordhavn and you basically have my dream Yacht. Aquaholic becoming a force to be reckoned with, and well deserved.
