Same engine, same issue... it was caused by EGR. I removed the vacuum hoses from the solenoid practically blanking the EGR and it is ok now, probably the EGR is quite clogged... 😁 I will change with a new EGR. The symptoms were exactly like yours and when I tried to drive it would keep dying and "coughing"... Did you solve this?
