Anyone else look at date this was posted to check if it was an April Fools joke?

$399 is a bit steep. Was hoping for something cheaper since the phone is doing the heavy lifting.

No 4K, very expensive and whilst clever, it’s already outdated in terms of resolution. What an own goal.

Damn $399 and no 4K? The Accsoon SeeMo 4k is only $179.

Sounds like a great product but a bit steep on the price $399 for 1080p 🤔. Hopefully future firmware will bump it up to 4k.

So you have to buy a unit for your particular phone? And if you change phones and the new one doesn’t fit, you’re out of luck? And what about storage? Even the latest iPhone Pro Max won’t record ProRes 60 internally. I don’t see any benefit of using your phone over just buying a ninja V. So many unanswered questions here.

No 4K, and no external SSD to be connected to the phone?

What resolutions and frame rates can it record in?

400 USD to solve problem that never exist. Also additional 60 USD for the case. This year iPhone 16 will have different design, then what? Pay more for case that may or may not exist. Reviews from other site that keep saying "....but there's a catch", yes you Newsshooter

Interesting, but the Monitor+ app seems to be sufficient. I only need a USB-C cable to connect the camera to the phone and a magnetic holder with a hot shoe to mount on the camera. In total, I spent less than €40 (app + 30cm USB-C cable + Magnetic mount)

Love the idea but it’s absurd that the video resolution (according to your website) is only 1080p. It’s 2024 and cameras are shooting 6k, 8k, and even 12k (even if no one is delivering in those resolutions). To not be at least 4K is ridiculous…

Just one question:
Is there any internal fan in this Ninja device to cool down the damn hot iPhone? To prevent the phone screen From dimming hell?

Wild to see video products showcased on Nikon cameras

I'm experiencing heavy lag with the iPhone as a monitor. What's the latency here? Nice to have but possibly terrible for any fast paced monitoring scenarios.

⁉⁉⁉WHY no possibility to record to ssd via phone?? 10-bit Pro Res will make u run out of phone storage while recording!!!⁉⁉⁉Right??

$400 + $60 case for a glorified FHD 10-bit capture card and NPF USB hub? Classic Atomos.

These recording specs are nearly the same (except 1080p60) as a Ninja 2 from literally 12 years ago that you can get for under $200 to record to an SSD directly. Use the passthru to a cheap UVC USBC adapter if you need the brightness of your phone.

Or if you need to stream/record 4K, use a Camlink 4K or a Z Cam Ipman Gemini for $60 to get 8bit 4K in the same form factor. I don't know of any RTMPS/HLS livestreaming mobile apps that can handle a 10bit pipeline but maybe the Ninja App will add that.

Can we still record to external SSDs with this? Where and when can we buy?

well since accsoon already developed the translation layer, i guess you could say the best innovation here is a locking hdmi.
btw, android can do this for about $15 but that's an apple problem.

Wait, I feel like you can buy a decent dedicated monitor for that price 🤔
