First learned about Clannad as an "early days U2 fan" and discovered there was a connection between them while I was serving in the army. Used to run long distances twice a day when I was assigned to 18th Airborne Corps and listening to a Walkman style cassette player as the beat was great for running. U2 pumped me up for 4-6 miles and Clannad was my before and after go to warm up and cool down music. Would love to find another artist still performing in this genre and style.

I never used to listen to Crann Ull. It was a song I skipped. But this song needs the right mindset to really enjoy it. It seems to me like a slow Jazz song. Where you let the song groove into you by not focusing on it. Listening to it that way creates a very nice experience.

I am so grateful that I was able to meet Clannad in Toronto in person, a gift from my daughter to the meet and greet. They were my favorite music group from childhood and the soundtrack of much of my life. In person they were every bit as wonderful as you would imagine from people who could make such wonderous music. I will always treasure the memory of that concert and meeting them.

My wife and I were lucky enough to catch Clannad on their farewell tour when it came to Edinburgh. This song was one of the ones that stood out for me, due in no small part to Moya's ethereal vocals and Pól's beautiful tin whistle playing. And the Gaelic lyrics, of course 🙂 Èirinn agus Gàidhlig na h-Éireann gu bràth!
