Very wise decision. Most gymnastics teams preferred to skip the opening ceremony and rest before qualifications. Besides, it was raining in Paris; the last thing a gymnast needs is to catch a cold.

This is not a new thing gymnasts NEVER attend opening ceremonies because qualifications for men are always the NEXT day and the Women are the following day. Been like this as long as I can remember!

Imagine all the young girls so excited to see Simone and they get unknowingly exposed to the horrific blasphemy of the mockery of Jesus. They just want to see their favorite athletes not see a full out forced vision of people worshiping satan. We shall see if any athletes take a stand against what happened during the opening ceremony. Sadly there might not be anyone that does.

Basically all of the artistic gymnasts skip the opening ceremony because they have quals either the day after or two days after the opening ceremony.
