Droid Bluetooth Beacon With A micro:bit V1 -- UPDATE

In a previous video I demonstrated how to create Bluetooth beacons with a micro:bit to which Galaxy's Edge droids will respond. Since that video was published a new micro:bit was released, the V2 micro:bit, and it is not compatible with the extension I used to create bluetooth beacons. Furthermore, the MakeCode environment I used to create the micro:bit application has changed to support V2 micro:bits and does not work with my extension. In this video I cover how to continue using my extension using the MakeCode environment for V1 micro:bits.

Wow! Thank you so much for your hard work on this. I found a v1.5 Microbit on ebay and it just arrived tonight. Downloaded your compiled example hex file and dragged it to the microbit. It started running your code immediately. I build my first Droid Depot Droid next week, so no way to completely test it right now, but on nRF Connect, I can see the correct advertising codes for the park so I know it is working. Awesome!

Whats the Difference Between the Demo and the Example? I had an old MicroBit at work so I brought it home, Put the Example Code on it since it looks like it does a lot more than the Demo. I see the Symbol on it so I know the Code uploaded. but my Son's GE R2 Droid does NOTHING when I push the buttons (I see the LED Patterns Change when I do). If I pair the Droid with the Remote, it starts to "Chatter" but it does this when the Microbit is unplugged as well. Not sure if I have to make changes to the Code or I did something wrong..

Is there a way I can just buy a pre programmed one that way I just get it plug it in then it does it’s thing

Have you made any progress on the version 2 yet? I made a version 1 and it worked I want to make another, but I'm having a hard time finding v1 now. Would love to do this on a v2.
