Felt the need to say that I've been out of grade 12 since 1990, and I have probably watched this video six times.  I don't use this technique all the time, and I am brand new to inkscape.  But when I do need it, your video is there to walk me through.  I'll eventually have it committed to memory, but don't change a thing.  I like how detailed you are - very easy to follow - thank you for taking the time to make these videos.

Thank you - that worked! I don't know how I missed setting both exponents to 0 in the "Shift" tab, but that was the kicker. Thanks again for your help and great tutorial.

This video was perfect for me. My employer wanted a design with radial lines and I'm still an Inkscape novice. This video helped me make something that look just as good as the overpriced stock art online. Thank you so much!!!

An oldie, but goodie. Needed this to refresh my memory. I missed a couple of steps. Thanks so much!

Thank you very much for the tutorial. That's exactly what I needed to draw crochet patterns and was looking for the last 2 hours.

It's 2024 and am here for it 😂 this tutorial could be 3mins if it's wasn't for the PC those days we were really patient with things 😂

I followed your tutorial carefully and triple-checked using Inkscape 0.48 but I got quite a different result. The cloned petals distributed up and to the right in practically a straight line. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

@myhumaninterface Make sure that you have both exponents set to 0 (zero) in the "Shift" tab but have both exponents set to 1 (one) in the scale tab. I just tried it in 4.81 Portable, and it worked fine.

Hi, I'm trying to learn Inkscape. Also still pretty green with computers. Feel a bit of a Oldie!! When I look at every one else in the family. So anyway trying to create flower, following your instruction. But, circle is not forming. Think I have read somewhere settings may change if like I have 64 bit windows 10 system. Can you help.

Didn't knew about that cross marking the center. Thanks!

I believe that most instructional videos are targeted at reminder level users. Car repair, painting, capentry, plumbing all included. Youll get morr thumbs up with brevity. v

First, I'm not sure if you've made any of these yourself, but minor editing aside, it's essentially a one-take venture, in which case speed is not always your friend. Second, this video was made for K-12 students; don't always assume YOU are the intended audience. Finally, speed is largely a matter of personal preference in such things. Someone totally new to vector drawing who is trying for the first time to absorb not only the mechanics, but the concept of radial clones, might disagree.

Thanks. I was wondering how to tile clones into a circle, solved.

Wow, awesome thanks, btw you sound like a good lecturer I watch on YouTube nuclear physics! 😂

Well, I don't think the average grade 8 student is looking for a reminder on how to use radial clones in vector graphics; that's who this video was made for.

I wish there was a FF button on these videos. Why is everyone slow.
