I’m having the hardest time opening this remote to get to the battery I took the nail out does the piece slide down or snap off

I bought a house that has one of these and I hate it. How do I turn it off so I can just flip the light on like normal? Any help appreciated

With some remotes you have to hold a couple of buttons down for 10 seconds. Anything in that manual about that

I sat on mine and it won't work. Even with new battery.
