While I know the hifonics name has fallen far from its Zed audio days they are still a solid product for the price and ive been using their products since the mid 90s. I have the previous version of this amp the 616.4 powering the mids and highs in one of my cars and ive been pleased with it overall, altho before i purchased a second amp for my system i ran the whole amp at 2ohm (2 component sets on the front channels, two 4 ohm 10s on the back half) and the amp would tend to shut off after 30 minutes of mid to high volume freeway driving. Now just running it as the highs amp has really made it come alive, too bad the cheap mids cant take all its power cleanly as the amp itself sounds good as any budget A/B amp on the market.

This is not marketing, it is not misinformation. Don't defend and praise these people and their products, these *lies* equate to straight up theft. Imagine someone reviewing a Ferrari and saying "although it didn't meet it's 800HP rating by a factor of *half* it still put out a ton of power and is pretty solid". Imagine someone reviewing a jar of coffee and saying "although we only measured 112 grams of coffee in this 200 gram labeled jar, the large granules are going to make a solid cup of coffee.
These brands disgust me as much as telemarketer or email scammers. Power is NOT a function of voltage times current divided by impedance, then times by 2 because you have a positive and a negative, then times by 2 again because there are 2 speaker wires, then times by 10 for literally no logical reason what so ever. There are 2 ways to rate the product in watts, output or draw. They never say 4000 watts *draw* It's always output. Amps should be rated for output *voltage* at a given impedance imo, that would fix a lot of issues in this industry with both amps and speakers

I have the 1000.4 of this amp it does 125 w x 4 at 4 ohms or 250 watts per Channel at 2 ohms I'm just wondering what kind of power am I am really puts out considering the 1600 doesn't put out that much do you have any idea

I just bought this amp to power 2 6x9 kicker ks 150 rms & 2 6.5 kicker ks 100 rms …. Going to wire it @ 4 ohms to each channel….do u think the amp is going to push this setup good? I’ve read a lot of reviews that this amp overheats and makes whining noise lmk what u think or should I return and buy planet audio ac2400.4

On their website it say 800x2 bridged @ 4ohms, in the video it says 800x2 bridged @ 2ohms

What I really need is an A/B 4ch with 400w X 4 @ 4hom bcs I want a SOLID 100w+ per channel so the amp will have to “say” 800watts or 1000watts if it’s a lower name brand.

There’s just many D amps on the market and all the AB amps are advertising only “half” of the base line wattage and refer to 2ohms being the standard for justifying the amps wattage for, may I remind you, an AB amp for what should be interior door speakers but we do not listen to car audio in 2ohms. The standard is 4ohms., or at least how I’ve always understood it, here in South Fl. I never get any details are quick response on 2ohms because the lower the ohm, the more sluggish the sound responsiveness gets and it over works the components or coaxial.

I’m looking at Alpine amps for front coaxial and rear mid woofers. Heroics comes in at competitive price and needs my needs with specs and features. But it has to be an AB class!
