A Biology teacher in Charlotte, North Carolina was arrested this week for what she allegedly did when she met up with an 18-year-old student at a local park. He was 18, therefore an adult. But the power dynamic of her being his teacher was wrong. She deserves to lose her job but does she deserve jail time? Im not sure about that.

One of my son’s teacher assistant’s kept referring to him as her bf. I was weirded out by that. It became like a joke that the other teachers would laugh at. I didn’t find it funny, remembering that Mary Kay met Vili in Kindergarten. My son was 4 at the time. I reported her and requested either she be moved or he be moved. He was moved. You really have to be hypervigilant with even “trusted” people.

He is 18, so the teacher isn't the worst person in the world, but the relationship is inappropriate due to her position of authority. They could both use emotional blackmail against each other for favours in school, which would be unfair to other teachers/students.
That being said, this is nothing compared to the teachers who are actual 'child' predators. This woman just needs to learn self-control or she shouldn't be a teacher.
