Fun fact:In real life Teddy was actually at the podium when he was shot, but it went through his breast pocket, which had a steel glasses case and his 50 page speech in it, this slowed the bullet down enough so that it only created an entrance wound.

After he was shot he collected himself, and said to the men currently fucking beating the ever living shit out of his attempted murder, ”Easy on boys, don’t beat him too badly”, he then gave his 50 page speech ensured that his assassin was still alive and then left, and boarded a train to Chicago to see his favorite doctor
