I have worked in the home improvement & new construction field for about 40 years now and have never come across an individual who has the same level of expertise as shannon. This guy really knows what he is talking about and is completely thorough with explaining every itty bitty detail. Thank you so much. Happens that I was in Dayton trying to find some one to do my roof, and I had to come back to California, and I had just a few days. Since winter is coming I didn't find anyone. So, I have to call a friend of mine who is a roofer, and we along with a helper, did the job. For me, it was a heavy work to do, but it was rewarding, specially that my fried had just 2 days to help me, and the second day was raining. Since then, I wanted to learn more, and these 3 videos, have teached me a lot. Thanks for taking the time to teach us how to. I'm already a fan of you man. Take care and God bless

After watching these videos, our three boys and I decided to reshingle our home. We are new to this work. We completed it just before Hurricane Ian and so far she is seaworthy! One of the best how-to roofing videos out there. Happy to see he did not add a ridge vent on his home with that low pitch. Someone did that to the house I just recently bought with a similar pitch and it's been leaking water in. Too low of a pitch doesn't keep rain water out of those vents, so not looking forward to when I re-roof this house. Little anxious about how much damage will be underneath and the $$ to fix it all.

I cannot do the shingling myself, at this age being too fragile. However, I like these videos because they help me to understand the work that a company will do, so that I can understand what is going on and can recognise any sign that something may be amiss.

After watching your 3 videos on how to install roof shingles, I attacked our cottage woodshed roof, replaced the sheathing with plywood and underlayment, and then architectural shingles, and got the job done. Thankyou for a great series of videos. I did my first roof 15 years ago and am getting close to tear off my third one (just sealed up 3 leaks after the hot weather). Because I don't do this every day its great to have something to refer back to so thankyou for taking the time and effort to do this.

Love your videos. I discovered you six years ago. You were teaching me how to correctly install a window. A lot has changed since the 1960s and 70s. The construction materials are much better and the techniques and codes are substantailly better as well. I apprciate all of your help. The window looks great and the home owners association are no longer complaining after I successfully finished. I'm doing more roof work this weekend with gutter work. Man, this guy always puts out some serious quality videos. There are a lot of other channels that specialize in roofing, or decks, or framing, or siding or other aspects of house work, but Shannon has a video or series on all of that in one channel. This dude is incredibly well rounded.

Thank you for posting up your videos on How To Install Shingles: from removing them to installing new ones I hope it really helps without having me ask too many questions while I'm at work on this new house it seems my friends helped me to renovate with them. I would also like to gain knowledge in removing tile floors from what it's laid on and watch to gain experience on how my boss wants to build this house from wooden sticks for the homeowners. I really appreciate the time you have taken to tell me the right and wrong I was doing at the job site.

I find that roofing is a great way to instruct teenagers and really improve the neighborhood. What you do is you find the worst delinquent in the neighborhood and you hire him for $40 or $50 an hour and say you'll pay him if he completes the job with you. Then when he's nailing the ridge cap you push him off the roof.
