This song practically screams "Loki." I like the original song by Imagine Dragons but felt that I really HEARD the lyrics, for the first time, through this cover.

When I edited "your birthright... was to die," I actually cried. :'( Loki really needs a hug!

Loki isn't a monster. He's misunderstood, very misunderstood. He was raised in a false life, he was raised to hate the very people that he is; the frost giants. He was always in Thor's shadow, no matter what he did, he was always in Thor's shadow. He just wanted to be seen as equal. He was always mistreated by everyone. Whatever he did wasn't good enough for anyone. Yeah he did bad things but wouldn't you if you lived his life? He's so broken and damaged by the people he thought were his family. He thinks what he was doing was for the best, even though it isn't. He hit rock bottom. He cracked and became what he was made out to be. Loki isn't a monster, just a poor damaged, lonely broken misunderstood soul who seeks to be seen as equal. No one trusts him, they all think bad of him. He lived a terrible life and he went down a dark path because of it.

Why don't they realise? Loki isn't evil he just lost the one person who truly cared about him. He's unwanted and unloved, but most of all he is lonely. He misses his mother and feels that no one else will ever care for him. He needs a friend.

I swear that this video had me crying. Loki looks so innocent, so young at the beginning. Non-one in the MCU sees that Loki is just a young man who has been manipulated, neglected and misused. He never wanted the throne, he only EVER wished for his father's approval, recognition, something.
And there is the most important part that i feel. Loki let go. Loki attempted suicide because he knew what he had done and he knew that nothing would save him. So he gave up. But then he was pushed into Thanos. He was forced and manipulated against his will, already in a vulnerable state after thinking that he would die.
Loki is such a deep character that I simply ADORE and this song portrays him so well

Loki is no monster! He risks his own life twice to save Jane's life ! He saves his mother's life also (before he was put in that jail). He cares about Thor, he fights with him side by side against the dark elves. He is devastated by his mother's death. Even Thor admits that Loki understands some things better than him (remember "The dark world"'s ending?). Perhaps Loki took advantage of that situation, yes, but let's not forget also Thor no longer wanted to be king of Asgard!

Okay so I watched Thor, Avengers and Thor 2 last week with a friend (we wanted to be prepared for AoU...) and we noticed that Loki in Avengers is so much different than Loki of the first Thor movie.

In the first Thor movie you really can feel his heartbreak. You feel sorry for him, you see him at a little poor boy who just wants love.
And that's actually his character in Thor, I think. He said that he never wanted to be king, just wanted to be Thor's equal. Okay, it's the trickster god speaking, but I think in this moment he said the truth. If he really wanted the throne, he just had to let Laufey kill Odin (what he interrupted to kill Laufey). In the deleted scenes whe see that he was made a legit king (Odin was "asleep" and Thor was banished). 
No, he killed Laufey, because that was the plan. It was his plan to kill/defeat the Frost Giants to make Odin proud. And when Thor came back, he just wanted to get him out of the way, so his plan would succeed. What was his plan in the first place? - Killing the Frost Giants, Odin's "nemesises".
But he failed. He knew he failed when he was nearly falling of the bridge, when he talked to Odin and odin said "No". Like it was the answer to the queston "Are you proud of me?". In desperation, maybe the thought that he didn't want to live such a "loveless" life anymore, Loki let himself fall off the bridge (could be seen as suicide). Because nobody seemed to know that he could survive the fall (Thor said that they all mourn for Loki; they all thought he was dead).

But he did. Thanos took/saved him. And whatever he did to Loki (many people say that they acutally tortured Loki), Loki knew he had survived. And he didn't want to keep a life he had before.
He saw this as second chance, as possibility so change everything. This time, he didn't want to be the unloved little brother, ignored by his father. This time, he wanted to be number 1. He wanted to be king, to be as good or even better then Thor. This "new life" should be different than his last. 
Also, maybe he wanted his revenge. He wanted to prove Odin wrong, that Loki was indeed strong and powerful.



Of course, this is just a headcanon my friend and I had in our minds. But I love to think this way.
Hopefully we'll see a lot more of Loki. Too bad he wasn't in AoU

first of all, Loki is my favorite character of all in marvel.
second, Loki is EXTREMELY misunderstood, all he ever wanted was for him to be Thor's equal, but instead of that, he was always in Thor's shadow and no matter what he did, no matter what he said, it was never good enough for anyone to acknowledge.he was lied to, underestimated, always in someone else's shadow and just downright ignored. in every movie that has Loki and Odin, it seems like Odin doesn't care about Loki and what he does. odin won't acknowledge that Loki has done something unless it was something bad. all of this led him to be really bitter towards Thor and the Asgardians. so to be acknowledged, he went to seek someone else's attention. also in the video, Odin said "your birthright was to DIE!!!" it probably made Loki upset to know that his father admits that to him.
third, WHO IS CUTTING THE ONIONS?!?!?!

Edit: I also believe that almost the entirety of the marvel movies would never had happened if Odin wasn't such an asshole to Loki.

I feel like Loki isn't a criminal and he's just the same as us. He's been treated wrong and he just wanted to prove himself better than the others, but being the best doesn't always turn out right and that's why he's now here. He feels lost and alone but he doesn't show it, he covers it with acts of crime

This is my fav fanmade video of Loki. The expressions he makes in this video are proof he's not emotionless, but that he doesn't like others picking on his emotions and private life. He's strongest persona I've seen in movies in a while. All of their act is broken at some point, but Loki never lets his inner feelings get through enough for others to notice. Amazing!
