Yes, ive had to throw one canvas away. It was, at the time the biggest one i had done, a 40x70 cm, and there was alot of different but similar shades of blue in it. I got the colors mixed up and it stressed me out to the point that i just threw the whole thing away. I bought another one just to prove to myself that i could finish it, which i did. At the time, it was a nightmare

I started out using the dryer sheets and then found the static guard works better for me!

Yep! I have ruined a canvas. It was a fairly large one, 40X 70, and I went to unroll it, and then rerolled it the other way, and when I did that, the plastic on it, came off, and the glued part, of one whole corner stuck to my dining room table! Took the whole layers of my table off, sticking to the canvas!!! And I tr8ed all the hacks I could find to take off the gloss and top layer of stain and nothing worked! I even tried lightly using my nail, to see if gently I could just scrape it off the canvas..noped! So... yep..I had a ruined canvas!!! I was sick to my stomach over that . Vickie from SE Pa

So, my sister's husband sat one of those thin plastic grocery bags on her uncovered canvas. I have gotten paper and other things off the adhesive by doing the various things I've learned on line, but nothing worked. So, since she couldn't see the symbols, DAC graciously sent me an image of the section we needed. We put adhesive on top of the thin plastic that was stuck on the canvas, then put the drills on it that way. Worked like a charm. Thank goodness DAC was kind enough to send over the image of the part of the canvas so we could improvise!

I have only had one kit I threw away. My ex roommate let her grandchildren get into my craft bag. I came home to find the kids dumped most of my drills all over the floor, so she swept them up and put it in the garbage that then got her coffee grounds over them.

Two days later, I was waiting for replacement drills to come in the mail, and came home another day to find that the kids went into my room again. This time they took the release papers off and folded the canvas in half glue together. I was about 1/3 done with the painting, but just decided to toss it. I put the replacement drills in my stash.

I didn't get any more crafts of any kind until after I moved out a month later. The only saving grace in that whole thing was it was a kit I got off of Amazon ( was still new to the art) and only paid about $10 for the kit to begin with.

I ruined one that was cheap enough to toss. I had all the drills in a gallon size ziplock bag. I set the bag on the sticky, and the bag was stuck so hard it tore and left large areas of plastic on it. (Double sided adhesive)

I had a canvas that cost about $100 but I ordered from Diamond painting company in Portugal called Melles diamond painting. Since it had go through customs they removed the plastic cover from the box so when I received the notification about it being out for delivery. It decided to downpour before I get home and bring it in the house. By the time I got home to it noticed the box was soaked and bit dirty but I figured no biggie just let dry. Nope. The next morning I noticed the canvas was still soaked and dirt on from where it fell during the storm. I was pissed and devastated by it. But luckily the owner was nice enough to resend me the canvas. I have placed two more orders in the past month due the customer service and just how nice the owner was to me.

I've just ordered some of spanglers work after watching your videos. They are super cute and I can't wait to get started. It's my first diamond art craft purchase so I'm super excited 😄

Since you talked about the static guard recently I've decided to finally try it. Dryer sheets, the freezer and blowing into the bag were all useful until they weren't! My last kit-up was horrible because of the amount of static. I would have moved on to the static guard sooner but I was dreading the smell. Turns out there are indeed unscented versions so I'm off to ordering one of those! Thanks, Daphne.🙏🏼

I ruined a canvas - I was trying to iron the wrinkles out of it. I accidentally left the hot iron sitting on it - the canvas had a big melted section in it. There was no saving it after that. Fortunately, the shop was very good about it and sent me a replacement kit.

I had some small budget canvas' that would not relax not matter what I did. At my wits end, I gave in and decided to try ironing one extremely gently. Well, because I was so frustrated I forgot to put anything between the canvas and the iron. Lesson learned! Luckily it was a canvas I wasn't in love with so there wasn't too much of a loss.

It was a lovely video Daphne. I abandoned one diamond painting because it had missing colours. I did accidentally cut through a diamond painting. I did use sticky tape on it, and it was fine. 😊

I’ve cut through a canvas slightly, just taped on the back. The drills covered any little bit of white that shows. No problem. Never ruined one though.

I dropped my storage on my canvas once. A large section of glue and symbols came off when I worked to get the container unstuck. It sucked.

I ruined a basically completed painting. It was one with an all pink background and I just didn't want to do all that background, so I got the idea to use glitter and mix in with sealer to cover it. It took so much of the sealer and glitter to cover enough for the symbols to not show that the canvas was super stiff. It turned out so awful and there isn't anyway to remove the glitter mess.

Can't say I completely ruined a painting but i accidentally sealed a painting with a matt finish and it looked awful. I used a moist rag and got off as much as i could - I still have it displayed on a shelf but i learned a big lesson with that. I don't seal most of my paintings but occasionally I'll seal one and mount it on a canvas or board. I was nodding my head along with you when you were talking about retirement stuff. I worked for the school district for awhile and when we moved I didn't pull the money like I had done before(husband wanted it for some reason). So it sat for quite a few years. When I couldn't work anymore because of my back ( I was 63 at the time), I was struggling with money issues and remembered that retirement money. I called and got it sent out. It was enough to pay off my car which was a godsend. I had been divorced for 10+ years at the time and still think about if I had kept the other one instead of pulling it, how much better my life would have been after the divorce. Ah well. Anyone who has a retirement account, even a small one, DON'T let anyone talk you into cashing it out early. I learned a lot of hard money lessons when I got divorced. May sound selfish, but please think of the what if's. I never thought I'd get divorced after almost 30 years. If I'd known I would have been more pro active about my retirement future. I'm fine now but it was a struggle for a few years.
