Bill Clinton talks Arkansas politics & Ukraine | Full interview

Former President Bill Clinton sat down with THV11's Craig O'Neill to chat about Arkansas politics, the conflict in Ukraine, and the Clinton School of Public Service.

I met him in 1975 or 1976 working as a “soda jerk” in a small town Arkansas pharmacy. He came in all by himself, shook my hand and asked me to vote for him. I was 17 and the voting age was lowered just in time for me to vote for him for Attorney General. Jimmy Carter was also on the ballot for President. They both won. Bill is a good man who made a mistake. He always cared about this country and her people and he’s never stopped. He loves Hillary the most, I’m glad they made it through all of it and I read that Monica voted for Hillary in 2016.

Thought he was a good president. He had an impressive mind and had a heart for America. Did he have short comings? Yes like we all do.

The interview was extremely interesting when Clinton talked about his interactions with Putin. Actually, Clinton was mentioned by name in Putin’s february 21 speech.

Putin asked Clinton back in 2000 how the US would feel about Russia becoming a member of NATO. Clinton’s reaction was supposedly pretty restrained. There was a missed opportunity to ask Clinton about this.

He thought the negative ads wouldn’t work because he knew they weren’t true. People were mostly mad because he raised the price of our car tags. He wrote in his book that he asked a voter if he ran again would the man vote for him. They guy said “yeah, I reckon you’ve learned your lesson. He lost in 1980 but won the next time. Best Governor Arkansas ever had, my late father in law knew him well and Bill sent a letter to the family with his condolences when Paw passed away, he didn’t forget his friends and tried to work for people who hated him.

The man defiantly has a lot of concerning accusations, such as kill list and Epstein stuff, (along with his obvious political scandal) but you definitely can’t call him stupid. His perception is startling.

It’s almost sad today to hear someone describing how important it is to hear, listen to and try to understand the opposing opinion’s and work together to find common ground. I can’t help but hope we can work together to find a common ground now.

Growing up as a kid my parents loved Bill. As I get older and am now in my 30's I can see why they liked him so much because he was a FAIR man and treated other countries very fairly too. Bill you continue to make our country look good. THANK YOU
