This has got to be the coolest guitar ever built. Mastodon tusk inlays?! Petrified bog wood?!! Bravo.

Mastodon inlays for a Mastodon guitarist. Great pairing.

Sounds and looks magnificent. Very cool to also get one of the guitar players from Mastodon to play on Mastodon tusk inlays!

I saw the picking style in the first seconds of the video and knew it was Brent Hinds. Dude is an absolute monster

Happy to be corrected but FYI, Kauri is pronounced “koh-ri”, with a slightly rolled R (“au” in Māori is always an “oh” sound)

Absolutely gorgeous. Love the jag. It's sooo dark sounding too! I was surprised to see he is playing the lead circuit with full tone and what appears to be like half volume for as dark as it sounded.
Id like to know what Jaguar pickups those are. 62 or 65? Also Im unclear on whether this thing is for sale or was a build for Brent.

Really great playing! And what a stunning guitar. Please turn Micheal Lemmo loose on this beauty, through a cranked super amp.

I wonder if Fender's ever considered using the wood of the Methusela tree. It's ancient, and it grows in California.

The story of the wood is reminiscent of the story of the infamous “the tree”, but that’s mahogany.

Is the guitarist Brent Hinds from Mastodon? I recognized his picking technic and his hands tattoos!

So is this being sold? I’d imagine if the wood was so rare Fender would keep it as a legacy instrument for their collection

Congrats on creating a "One-of-a-kind" Strat Guitar. Did absolute 'justice' to the Kauri timber and the 'Tone' is mind blowing ! Nice pick-ups for sure, but that 'tree' is vocal. FYI. When one of those rare pieces of timber are pulled from the swamp in Northland, New Zealand, they weigh approx 10 Tons (after cutting into manageable pieces) and "ALL" involved logistically, take the greatest care, including truckers, dock workers etc... Very nice to 'see' a finished product ! (My Squier BulletStrat is 'Not For Sale', but I possibly could be persuaded to consider a 'swap' for the 'Jag')... 🤠 ...
