DIY DOCTOR'S/LAB COAT FOR KIDS |COSTUME |THRIFT TRANSFORMATION

Hi guys! Today’s video tutorial is a thrift transformation one. I’m showing you how to turn men’s shirt into a lab coat or doctor’s coat for kid’s costume. The beauty of knowing how to sew is that in emergency situations, and when you can’t be bothered to pay a heavy price on a costume that you child will only use once, you can be able to create an outfit within a very short period. More so, it’s a good idea because once again, it saves the environment because you are actually recycling the shirt, you see what I mean?

For this project, you'll need:
1.An old men’s shirt
2. matching thread
3. Scissors
4. Sewing machine

I saw where someone cut straight up the side seam and then cut down on the middle of upper arm area to make childs length then cut out U shape on shirt to see back sleeve instead of cutting that big U it was more tailored to the child. In case you do this again you can try it that way and see which way you like. Not up to me. You did a good job mama! I bet the child loves it😍

I'm so confused. Why do you cut the sleeves off to sew them back on. I know there is a reason. I just don't understand it.
