This original scene was powerful enough that it must have stayed in my memory from more than two decades ago when I last saw it so that white lotus reproducing immediately triggered recollection. Antonioni made the greatest of the modernist films.

This is better than The White Lotus version, vastly superior. Monica isn't scared, nor flattered. She's just numb to the men's behavior. It's much more mysterious and deeper than the White Lotus knockoff, which plays like a bad cover version.

White Lotus was nice in the first season. Tha second one is extremely boring and repetitive and that same scene in White Lotus, shot today, is offensive. Idiot Mike White wanted look like a movie expert and did not understand that in Noto today, that scene is a gaffe. He has peed outside the toilet. I don't go on watching and I cancelled HBO.
