interesting that even many Many pro’s now have went to a true twin fin...or at least get fin box plugs to seal up the FCS or Future holes left in where the trailer would be. there’s nothing like a true quad or twin fin once you get to feeling how to set the rail. and with the right fins the power is still there, it just is a different way of engaging it according to the laminar flow of the board on the wave.

I just try to get one of every type of board and fin configuration. I have 4 boards so far.

I agree, ride something other than a thruster. Especially if you can't ride well on one. Most can't.

Funny, I feel like the dynamics in surf culture have completely swapped. Growing up in my time everyone wanted to be that guy on the hi-performance short board, slashing and pumping through waves regardless of conditions. Now every time I paddle out, all I see is nothing but twin fins and mid-lengths filling up the line up. Nothing wrong with it. It’s just funny to see surf culture go through its fazes. I wonder what’s next, maybe a resurgence in long boarding? Only time will tell
