And incredible to think that the whole thing was recorded and filmed in Joe Meek's scullery 😊

The innocence of it all....But what a document of the early '60s. And what a showcase of the brilliance of Joe Meek.

The reverb Joe had makes everything sound eerie… the BV's are otherworldly.. amazing ❤️

Love how they got around the fade-outs problem as these are clearly the studio recordings. Charles Blackwell 'fading' the band. So glad this promo was preserved for us to see 60 years on.

Everything so clear! Another shining moment for Goddard, Meek, Leyton and The Tornados.

Fascinating window into the past, before the Beatles came along, a wealth of home grown talent emerged during the late 50s early 60s, many of the big chart makers were swept aside during the Mersey boom of 1963.
I've heard Mick jagger say that prior to the Beatles we only had Acker bilk and some comedy act's.
He clearly forgot about Johnny kid, cliff Richard, Marty wild, Billy Fury, Joe Brown, Shane Fenton, John Leyton, Helen Shapiro and the many more pop stars that were around in the UK long before himself

Never knew this wee film existed until I bought the John Leyton, Lone Rider 3 CD boxset on Cherry Red Records. Charles Blackwell playing himself and Clem Cattini on drums and a pre-bleached Heinz. Great stereo sound. Joe Meek couldn’t read music but was a musical genius.

Ten film to arcydzieło, oddaje niepowtarzalny nastrój lat 60 tych, piosenki Johna Leytona to super przeboje, z doskonałą orkiestra.
Wielkie dzięki!!
Pozdrawiam z Polski, wszystkich fanów muzyki lat 60 tych.
