Sandi Harding, the general manager at Bend’s The Last Blockbuster, got a call from France Thursday morning with news that the store’s Super Bowl commercial had won gold at the prestigious Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Worked BB '95-99ish. Had so much fun there. Especially when we replaced the old checkout terminals with PC's. After we closed down for he evening, checked everything in, and put everything back on the shelves while we waited for the MOD to process the dailies I had a floppy disk that I could boot one of the PC's into Wolfenstein 3D. I had a serial mouse and I would play for about 30 min. Or we would break out a PSX rental and play on that.

I miss going to Blockbuster on a Friday, as a kid, and as soon as you enter, the smell of popcorn is in the air and the whole vibe was amazing. Browsing movies and games and sneaking over to the "adult" section of the place hoping not to get caught to browse the movies there lol. Blockbuster was legendary and I wish it came back to other parts of the world. Long live Blockbuster Bend <3
