Creating Independent Copies From a Component and Keeping Their Dependency on the Original

In a parametric design, you may what imdependent copies of a component but still wish that these copies were linked to the original. This would allow you to edit the original and the edit would propogate to all independent copies. If you ever wished for this capability, this video is for you.

This is amazing, thank you so much for clearly explaining how to do this. Such a simple requirement I'm shocked that's it's not a toggle in the copy/paste tool to disable or enable backward inheritance.

how do you prevent a new component from keeping its original sketches? (how can you make a copy and edit sketches on the copy without effecting the original?)
