We use bars in the ground like when your block paving ( same set up ) lines and bars then tread the soil in first pull siol again across then pull rail across the bars, and hey presto lovelly and flat ( and you can get falls right ) and do slopes, it's is an eye and art as you say and we always work to the look right syndrome , you do some lovelly stuff fella, making it look easy, a true tradesman, well done, and good luck as we enter the 💦💦💦 season 👍

Lovely bit of levelling that Matty ! Its actually one of my favourite jobs ! I must of rakes god knows how many square Miles ! All by eye and like you said if it looks right it is right ! Screed bars like mentioned is other comments is a bit OTT fa me 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
