1968 Ford Mustang Holley to Edelbrock carb upgrade

A feature video showing the swap from a Holley carb to the much prefered Edelbrock/Weber 600 cfm carb which will allow for far better drivability. An unexpected hurdle as well, jobs don't always go to plan.

I done the same thing on my wife's 64 Malibu twenty years ago and it's always ran great with the performer rpm matching intake and carb with electric choke. She had a 650 DP and high rise torker 2 intake when I first drove her and she bogged and carried on, never sounded strong under WOT. Made kind of a fluttering sound. With the Edelbrock, It was like switching to efi almost with great throttle response, great sounding under full go. Reached a hundred faster and better mpg. Still has original powerglide. Holley is for race and people who constantly tinker. They work good when new but not for long. Great video

There are two types of carb mechanics. Those who understand and work on Holley's, and those who swap them out for an Edelbrock.

There is fixing, which is easy on a Holley, and then there's fixing by replacing. Nothing wrong with Edelbrock / Carter. Nothing wrong with a Holley--have run them for decades.

will the Edelbrock avs-2 bolt on to a Ford intake where a Autolite 4300 was?

? Why condemn the Holley without doing not even one thing to it first, not even a basic cursory check over of basic settings and things... could be full of gas tank crud?... Even the extremely short air cleaner could have been part of the problem if the Lid was too close to the tops of the Holley Bowl vent tubes... Could have at least disassembled the Holley in the Video and shown internal condition and details... Are the skills and knowledge possessed to properly diagnose, set-up, and adjust a Holley for a more informed more fair comparison?
