Kazuo Izhiguro THE UNCONSOLED Book Review

Gosh I hated this book.

The unfinished is definitely one of those books that would test your patience. Agreed. But its wrong to say that it is not well written. I read it and am reading it for the second time. The more you read it, I think the more you would like it. I am beginning to feel that I am reading a great book... I love Ishiguro.

I've just reached 102pp and it's time to stop as I don't see any resolution in sight! (which is why I'm looking at several reviews).
Unconsoled is not _difficult_ to read, but it's just going nowhere. For me, long books have a 200pp test and for this, 100pp is enough!
There are too many other _great_ books out there for my limited time.

I am also struggling to finish reading this book. This review is a bit harsh and missed the point. I priase Ishigura’s ability to describe in painstaking details of any scene or people or emotion. How wonderfully observant of him and has the ability to express it. The only drawback is the lack of an interesting plot to drive the story. As in fact there is not much of a story in this book. Anyone who appreciate the writing, this is still a worthwhile reading.

That’s an unfair review of one of best novels of our age. You need to read it again.

It’s about space, time, memory and perception. If somebody is taking your time and you are bored, you know that. This book makes you feel that time.
